Cleaning the Rug

During our adventure to IKEA (crazypants) we decided to buy a white rug. Since the furniture in our apartment is all black, I felt that this would be good to lighten things up a bit. The only problem is that after having about eight people (sixteen pairs of shoes) building furniture in our apartment the past few days, the rug is now grey. But no fear! That is why humans created Tide. Tide is wonderful for cleaning clothes, making fabric smell good, and making my jeans fade onto the carpet as I clean it (Learning Experience #1).

It was during this carpet cleaning that I discovered that earthquakes do occur on the Upper East Side. At first I thought maybe it was due to my malnourishment of being too lazy to make a run to the grocery store, or maybe my body was just freaking out from all the walking. But no, as I stared at my Coke Zero rippling as if from the ever famous scene from Jurassic Park, I knew something was coming. Whether it was the band playing neighbors upstairs or the tearing up of Second Avenue, something is afoot in the city. I have yet to figure out what it is.

Next, I will probably name the crazy pigeons who live in the air shaft.

Otherwise, everything has been good so far. I'm just trying to stay sane without much to do and try to relax and enjoy my days off before I have none. This has helped. I am very excited for Watchmen to come out especially after reading the graphic novel that was given to me by the boyfriend. The real question is whether he will wait for me to see the movie with him - no pressure :)
